Woman killed in westmoorings
A woman who police named as Kathy Stratham was killed yesterday while crossing the Western Main Road in the vicinity of Regents Tower, Westmoorings. According to eyewitness Rex Stollmyer, “around 3.20pm I was proceeding west just past the traffic lights when two cars sped off in front of me. I saw a woman further up the road trying to cross the road.
She attempted to turn back shortly after and was hit by a blue Suzuki Baleno. she was thrown into the air and fell a distance off...dead.” When Newsday visited the scene a police officer said that the dead woman who appeared to be in her 30s was thrown about 150 feet before she hit the road. The car which was driven by David Gatcliffe stopped 232 feet away. The shocked driver had to be taken to hospital where he was treated for shock. PC Baksh of the Four Roads police is investigating.
