Cops nab car thief; recover stolen vehicle

Quick response by two officers on patrol at Endeavour Road, Chaguanas yesterday, resulted in the arrest of a 27-year-old man and the recovery of a B-15 car stolen from the Divali Nagar site recently. Reports revealed that around 11 am, PCs Barrow and Singh were on patrol when they observed the occupant of a car acting suspiciously. He was ordered to bring the car to a halt. Checks revealed that the car was stolen. The man was arrested and taken to the Chaguanas Police Station where he was questioned about other car thefts. Snr Supt Barnett Mayers, Head of Central Division told Newsday the police might be able to solve a number of other crimes as a result of the arrest.
