LOWPLACE GETS WATER
RESIDENTS of Lowplace, Laventille East Dry River, last Tuesday, called on WASA to repair a burst water main which caused a large crack on their street. One of the residents, Sibert Gonzales, told Newsday for more than a month, water had been seeping from the junction at Lowplace. Because of the water wasting, the residents had also been suffering for a daily supply of water. “There has been no water on our side of the street for a month, and all the water is wasting,” said Gonzales.
When Newsday contacted WASA, Corporate Communications Manager, Karen Smart said she would send a crew out to assess the situation. Gonzales was pleased to inform Newsday that a WASA crew visited the area that same evening. He said they quickly fixed the leak, repaved the road, and restored water to their homes. Gonzales thanked Newsday and WASA for their efficient response in helping the residents of Lowplace.
