Tears for an angel

SEVERAL toddlers held roses and cried yesterday as they gazed intently at the small white, flower-covered casket bearing the remains of three-year-old Angel Amoroso during a funeral service for the child who died in a fire a week ago. The simple service was held at a house within walking distance of the burnt-out ruins of Angel’s La Lune, Moruga home. During the service, Angel’s mother Stacy, who is eight months pregnant, kept screaming and crying and had to be restrained by relatives. She even fainted at one point during the service in which there was not a “dry eye.”

“Oh God, I can’t take this...why this have to happen. Why?” Amoroso screamed. Angel who was a student of Rosebuds Pre-School was described by her Principal Angelia Andrews, as a child who loved and looked forward to attending school and playing with her favourite friends Tennille and Atalia. Officiating at the funeral service was Rev Limroy Gabriel, who in his sermon, urged the people gathered to make their lives with Christ. The tiny tot’s remains were buried at the La Lune cemetery.
