Abductors drop demands

THE abductors of Bassie Street, Spring Village, Valsayn East resident Chris Elves have dropped their demands to $200,000 and jewelry for his release. The original demand for his release was $2 million. Elves, 35, was kidnapped outside his home last Thursday while liming with friends. He was bundled into a car by two masked gunmen and hustled away.

Relatives of Elves received the demands, but after days of negotiations between relatives and the kidnappers, police sources said that demands were lowered on Monday. When contacted police claimed they were getting nowhere in their investigations since they were not receiving any cooperation. The Anti-Kidnapping Squad is investigating.
