DPP orders inquest into death of Mt D’Or teen

THE Director of Public Prosecutions has ordered an inquest into the death of Mt D’Or teenager Ricardo Mayers. Mayers, 15, was shot dead last Wednesday during a struggle for a gun while playing a game of Russian Roulette at an abandoned house in the area. Another 15-year-old boy was held, but has since been released. After an investigation, interrogations and a report submitted to the DPP, instructions were given for an inquest. The Arima Senior Comprehensive School Form Four student will be buried this afternoon at the Tunapuna Public Cemetery after a 3 pm service at the Allen’s Funeral Home Chapel on Cemetery Street, Tunapuna. Sgt Worrel is continuing investigations.
