Arima woman on $250,000 bail
Yuhanna Mohammed, 26, of Laventille, was remanded in custody, while Leslie Ann Jordan, 29, of Arima, was granted $250,000 bail with surety to be approved by the Clerk of the Peace, when they reappeared in the Tobago Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition at the Scarborough Port last Friday night.
Mohammed and Jordan are each on two separate charges of possession of a Briko .380 automatic pistol and 19 rounds of .380 calibre ammunition. Charges in the matter were laid by Detective Estate Constable Leslie Grant of the Scarborough Port Security Unit. On Wednesday, the court was informed that Mohammed had several previous convictions and was wanted on outstanding warrants by police in Trinidad. He was denied bail, and advised of his right to apply for bail before a judge. The two defendants will reappear in court on March 1.
