Body of missing man found in Longdenville

THE BODY of a 22-year-old man who was reported missing last Wednesday was found at Penco Lands, Longdenville on Friday night. Kevin Nicholas Small left his Enterprise home around 8.30 pm on Wednesday telling relatives that he was going out. When he failed to return home, a report was made to the Chaguanas Police Station. Around 10.30 pm on Friday, a passerby discovered the body at Penco Lands and alerted the Longdenville Police. A party of officers led by Snr Supt Mayers, and including Inspector Khan, Sgt Corbette, and District Medical Officer Dr Khatri visited the scene and the body was ordered removed to the Forensic Science Centre.

Investigators believe Small died from chop wounds to the neck and face. No motive was established for the killing. Small’s mother, Liloutie Sankar, told Sunday Newsday her son was a construction worker and was undergoing training to improve his skills. She said on Wednesday she made a sandwich for Small and he later told her he was going out. That was the last time that she saw him alive. As tears swelled her eyes, the mother of five said her son never troubled anyone and lived a quiet life. She is appealing to the police to find the person or persons responsible for the murder. Small was the father of a two-year-old daughter, Chelsea.
