Unruly youths mirror their society

THE EDITOR: I thank you for including my proposal for the “eradication of crime” in your Thursday issue January 27, 2004. The UNDP report on poverty and the publication in the LA Times on the runaway crime situation in Trinidad and Tobago further highlight the need for Government to explore all of the solutions to deal with the situation including those which I have proposed. For less than half of the five million which was handed to the goodly gentleman for the development of a crime plan (should be anti-crime plan) I would have had more than enough money to execute a comprehensive and well strategised plan to heal the epidemic. What we regard as crime are only the fruits of trees which began years ago when their seeds were left carelessly to germinate.

If we destroy the fruits the trees still remain and once the seed germinates it will blossom and bring forth fruit. Therefore we already have a neat breed of criminals coming up (ages 7-14) and they will make the current crop look like angels if we do not act now. There is no system, law, legislation, Commissioner, Minister of National Security and Prime Minister which and who possess the power to destroy the thought of crime in the mind of a person. The psycho-spiritual grid is not subjected to any of the many plans we develop and administer in the physical plane. Just as there are doctors of the physical body there are also scientists of the spiritual body — from whence comes the transmission of agreeable or disagreeable waves to influence human physical behaviour.

It is only the scientists of the Spirit (and I don’t mean religious leaders) who can diagnose and draw venom from the vipers to successfully develop the anti-toxin. The answer to the delinquent and unruly behaviour of youths in the nation’s schools can be solved by spiritual wisdom. The youths are not what we make them out to be. They are only reflecting the true image of the society from the top to the bottom. But we are afraid to look into the mirror, we prefer to blame the youths instead. I implore the Minister of Education to give me just a few minutes of her time and she shall no doubt realise that her ministry is fully responsible for crime and poverty eradication. Let those who have an ear to hear comprehend what the Spirit is saying. The land is groaning. The salt and the light of the world are being unveiled.
