Kidnapped Glencoe woman still missing
OFFICERS of the Anti-Kidnapping Squad (AKS) yesterday searched a Diego Martin house in a bid to find kidnapped Glencoe woman Tamen Abraham, who was snatched last Friday while on a morning walk with a friend. Acting on a tip-off, officers surrounded and entered the house, but left empty-handed after a thorough search. AKS officers told Newsday no ransom has been demanded for Abraham’s release. Sources said in the absence of a ransom demand, they were baffled over the kidnapping and strongly suspect it could very well have been a case of mistaken identity.
Yesterday, the woman’s relatives renewed their pleas for the abductors to release her, saying she was in need of medication for hypertension. The family has been holding a nightly prayer vigil since her abduction. The Abraham family said the kidnapped woman depended on her pension and disclosed that her son was the sole breadwinner in the family. AKS officers are calling on members of the public who may have information on Abraham’s whereabouts to call the nearest police station or call 800-tips (Crime Stoppers). Meanwhile, AKS officers are also probing the kidnapping of businessman Robin Ramadhar who was snatched last Friday night. Kidnappers have failed to contact his family to make a ransom demand. Up until yesterday, eight persons had been kidnapped for the year.
