1,028 students write SEA exam in Tobago
Some 1,028 children from more than 40 schools, including 100 students from private schools, will write the Secondary Entrance Assessment (SEA) examination in Tobago today. While the students would be diligently seeking placement at their “first choice” schools, they have been assured that secondary school places are available for all children who write the exam. In a message for the occasion, Tobago House of Assembly (THA) Chief Secretary /Secretary of Education, Orville London, extended best wishes to all SEA students. He said, “I am aware that many of you will be anxious, nervous even, at the prospect of this examination which climaxes years of hard work at the primary level.”
He urged the youngsters to remind themselves that their teachers would have adequately prepared them for today’s challenge. He also encouraged them to approach the examination with the confidence that they would perform at their best. “All of you strive for placement at your ‘first choice’ school. However, I wish to assure you that regardless of your final placement, you would receive quality education and have the opportunity to develop to your optimum potential,” London told the SEA students. He wished them the best of luck while urging them to make their parents and teachers proud, but most importantly, to make themselves proud by their performance in the examination.
