Christians to retrace footsteps of Christ
Multitudes of Christians are expected to remember the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ, and retrace his footsteps during the Stations of the Cross today. The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception will commence their Good Friday Stations of the Cross at 11 am, and Our Lady of Perpetual Help RC Church will embark on its annual pilgrimage up San Fernando Hill from 5.45 am, while other churches, such as Holy Cross RC in Princes Town, will begin from as early as 5 am.
Other Good Friday commemorative services include the Seven Last Words of Jesus at noon, and the Celebration of the Lord’s Passion at 3 pm at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception; and there will be a 5 pm service at Our Lady of Perpetual Help RC Church on Harris Promenade, San Fernando. Gloria Saturday vigils will be held from 9.30 pm at the Cathedral, and from 10 pm at Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Several Easter Sunday masses will inaugurate the Easter season, with mass at 9 am and 6.30 pm at the Cathedral; and 6 am, 7.30 am, 9.30 am and 6 pm at Our Lady of Perpetual Help.
