Radha, 16, still missing
RELATIVES of a 16-year-old girl who did not return home from school on Tuesday have been holding nightly prayer services for her safe return. Worried relatives of Radha Lakhan have divided themselves into groups and have been searching for her since Wednesday. “We are praying that she is alright,” the teenager’s mother, Surujdai Lakhan said. Lakhan, who is due to sit CXC examinations next month, left her school —Palo Seco Government Secondary School — around 1.30 pm and boarded a taxi to her home at Spring Trace, Quarry Village, Siparia.
The report stated the taxi dropped her off near her home. She was last seen walking along a lonely road which led to her home. The road, police said, is surrounded by bushes. Worried that her daughter did not come home from school, Surujdai called the school and her friends to inquire whether they knew Lakhan’s whereabouts. After being told that Lakhan left for home after school, the woman went to the Siparia CID where she made a report. A party of officers led by Sgt Wells visited the scene and combed the bushes, along with relatives, but found no trace of the teenager. PC Ramrag of the Siparia CID is continuing investigations.
