Girl, 17, accused of kidnapping

A TEENAGED woman and two men were yesterday granted bail in the sum of $480,000 when they appeared before a Sangre Grande magistrate on kidnapping charges. Donnis Isaac, 30, of Fortune Street, Matura, Robert Roopsingh, 27, of Vega De Oropuche, and Stephanie Zamore, 17, also of Vega, yesterday appeared before Magistrate Cheryl Ann Blake at the Sangre Grande First Magistrates’ Court charged with kidnapping, falsely imprisoning and assaulting 17-year-old Terrence Darbeau.

Isaac was also charged with driving without a certificate of insurance. Darbeau, a gardener, was allegedly abducted at around 2.30 pm on Easter Monday while liming on a bridge at Vega De Oropuche. He managed to escape and made a report to the Sangre Grande police. The indictable charges were laid by PC Anil Baboolal. Isaac’s bail amounted to $250,000, Roopsingh’s to $150,000 and Zamore’s to $80,000. The three will re-appear in court on April 8.
