Dinsley Ramayan for Adesh

A ONE-NIGHT Ramayan will be held in honour of chutney star Adesh Samaroo at the Dinsley Hindu Temple this evening from 6.30 pm. Imtiaz Seepersad, close friend of Samaroo and spokesperson for the Samaroo family, told of the Ramayan at a press conference yesterday on the grounds of the Seventh Day Adventist Community Hospital in Cocorite, to update the public on Samaroo’s condition. Samaroo has been warded at the medical institution following a vehicular accident last Tuesday on the Eastern Main Road, outside Emerald Plaza in St Augustine.

Reading from a report issued by the doctor attending to the artiste, Seepersad said: “He remains sedated and ventilated and is now on slightly less oxygen than when he was initially ventilated. “Continuous monitoring from the doctors has shown that the blood pressure inside of his head and also his own blood pressure remains normal. The massive blood loss, clotting abnormalities and the fractures have been rectified.” As Samaroo’s condition improves, arrangements are now being made to have necessary surgeries performed. Contrary to other reports, Samaroo has not yet undergone surgery. Samaroo is in the Intensive Care Unit for a few more days, depending on his progress.
