Former murder accused gunned down
A former murder accused on Tuesday night became murder victim number 95. According to reports around 7.30pm, Felix Reno alias ‘Fifi’ was walking along Mt Pleasant Road, Carenage when residents heard a volley of shots. When they investigated they found Reno, 33, dead lying face down in a pool of blood. When Newsday visited the Scorpion Alley, Abbe Poujade Road, Carenage home of the deceased relatives refused to talk. However a neighbour described him as a ‘hustler.’
“Ever since his incarceration for two years and released from prison after the preliminary inquiry, Felix had been on the hustle doing whatever he could to survive.” The neighbour claimed that “the state had failed to protect him when they released him from prison without anything and leaving a stain to his name. “Because of his hustle to survive he would do just about anything. “And we believe it is because he rubbed someone the wrong way he was killed” the neighbour said.
“All round he was a good man, he just got into petty trouble”. Felix who was released from prison after spending two years awaiting trial for the murder of yachtie Claire Holt during the mid nineties was shot five time about the body. When contacted police confirmed that Reno was a petty criminal who made people’s lives miserable. Autopsy results confirmed death from shock and haemorrhage consistent with bullet wounds. Snr Supt Millington, Inspector Cadette and Lezama visited the scene. Cpl Adams is continuing inquiries.
