Citibank official continues evidence
Citibank official Patrick Solomon yesterday gave evidence for the third day in a row at the preliminary inquiry into allegations of corruption arising out of the Piarco Airport Development Project. Solomon, who was led in evidence by State attorney Carla Browne-Antoine, identified several documents provided by Citibank via a production order. The same documents had been tendered into evidence by Brown-Antoine. After Solomon’s evidence-in-chief, the witness was then cross-examined by defence attorney Frank Solomon SC.
Eight persons and three companies are charged with a total of 21 offences relating to the new terminal development project at Piarco Airport. They are former government ministers Brian Kuei Tung and Russel Huggins; CEO of Northern Construction Ltd (NCL) Ish Galbaransingh; CEO of Maritime General Insurance Company John Henry Smith; Maritime Group of Companies chairman Steve Ferguson; company secretary Barbara Gomes; businesswoman Renee Pierre, and Fidelity Insurance and Leasing Company Ltd. The matter is being presided over by Chief Magistrate Sherman Mc Nicolls in the Port-of-Spain Eighth Court.
