PM looks forward to Khan’s return to Govt
Prime Minister Patrick Man-ning yesterday issued an official press release. It read: Prime Minister Patrick Man-ning this morning received an offer of resignation from Minister of Works and Transport — Franklin Khan as Minister over his alleged role concerning the recent controversy now in the public domain. The Prime Minister met with the Minister this morning at the Prime Minister’s official residence during which Mr Khan, Member of Parliament for Ortoire/Mayaro, indicated that he was prepared to sit in the back benches whilst he continues to take all available steps to clear his name.
In accepting the resignation, the Prime Minister assured him that he looked forward to the day when Mr Khan can return to the Government after the matter is completely resolved, and the Integrity Commission to whom the matter was referred, completes its deliberations. The Prime Minister thanked Mr Khan for his services in the Government and invaluable contribution in the Ministry of Works and Transport. In the meantime, the Prime Minister is making arrangements for the reorganisation of the Government and further information would be released shortly.
