Foreigner dies after ingesting 30 packets of cocaine
Noel Arrindell, 22, of St Maarten, swallowed 30 packets of cocaine — one of which ruptured and emptied its contents inside his stomach killing him. That was the finding of an autopsy conducted Friday by forensic pathologist Dr Hughvon DesVignes. This confirmed police theory that Arrindell a "swallower" — a drug mule who swallows illegal drugs as a way of transporting it clad only in a white boxer shorts, was found dead with froth at the mouth on the floor of an apartment at a guesthouse at Crown Point around 7.30 pm on April 27. A four-tablet packet of Lomicil, with three tablets removed, along with a box of fried chicken, were also found in the apartment. Lomicil, medical sources reported, is used to stop one from excreting. Arrindell had reportedly arrived in Tobago on a flight from St Maarten via Antigua the previous day. His travel documents indicated that he was scheduled to leave the island on a flight to Amsterdam on the very evening that his body was found. The discovery was made by the guesthouse owner/manager after Arrindell failed to check out to catch his flight and was not seen since he booked into the guest-house.
