School principals condemn violence
THE Primary Schools Principals’ Association yesterday condemned the spate of violence and indiscipline in some schools, offering its full support to the Ministry of Education in its efforts to bring about peaceful environments.
The association suggested the expansion and modernisation of current measures, saying there was need for suspension to include rehabilitative measures, community work and on the job training, the reintroduction of student councils, student support services and referral and counselling programmes. The association also called on all parents to be part of the solution and for high quality teacher training, in addition to improved supervision of teachers.
