On his way to pay workers, accountant robbed of $40,000

AN ACCOUNTANT, who on his way to pay workers on Friday, was held up in Point Fortin by two men and robbed of $40,000 in cash. Up to late yesterday police had not made an arrest or recovered any of the stolen money. Wilmont Hoyte, 60, employed with TRINJET Ltd, told police that around 5.40 pm he went to the First Citizens Bank at High Street, Point Fortin and collected $40,000 in cash to pay workers their salaries.


Upon reaching Pettal Street, Wilmont reported that two men snatched the money from him. They also took Wilmont’s $1,000 Nokia cell phone. The bandits subsequently ran off. Sgt Flanders and PC Gary of the Point Fortin Police Station  visited the scene and are continuing investigations.
