NY police hunting for Trini killer
A NATIONAL of Trinidad and Tobago tops a list of New York’s Ten Most Wanted. According to a report in the city’s Daily News newspaper, which launched a campaign to track down NY’s most vicious criminals yesterday, Trinidadian-born Andre Neverson is wanted for the murders of his sister and ex-girlfriend. They are asking that anyone with information about the whereabouts of Neverson and the other wanted criminals call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. Federal marshals are offering a US$25,000 reward for information leading to Neve-rson’s arrest and conviction, and Crime Stoppers is offering an additional US$12,000. All calls will be kept confidential. Neverson, 41, who is 6-feet-2, 240 pounds and bald, is wanted for a terror spree in which he allegedly gunned down his sister, Patricia Neverson, and kidnapped, beat and murdered his ex-girlfriend, Donna Davis. After the killings in July 2002, Neverson delighted in tormenting his girlfriend’s family, investigators said. He allegedly sent Davis’ mother, Daisy, a chilling note after Donna went missing on July 8, 2002. "You’ll never see her again," the note read. "He needs to suffer," Daisy Davis said as the three-year anniversary of her daughter’s murder approaches. "He needs to be caught and to suffer. I don’t want him to know how much pain he has caused, because he is a monster, and he’ll be glad," she said. Neverson was deported to TT in 2000 after serving five years for attempted murder. However, two years later, he sneaked back into the United States and allegedly ambushed his sister — shooting her in the head at the family’s Crown Heights home in Brooklyn. He then abducted Davis as she left a night class at Audrey Cohen College in Queens, police said. Davis’ battered body was found in a weed-choked lot in East New York, Brooklyn. NYPD detective Peter Margraf of the 71st Precinct in Brooklyn has been tracking Neverson since the murders. "It’s been three years," Margraf said. "This guy needs to get caught."
