Court stops Fire Services elections

A COURT order has stopped tomorrow’s scheduled elections by the Fire Services Associaton (Second Division). A group within the association, the Progressive Action Council, filed for judicial review, claiming the decision of the Registrar-General not to postpone the elections, amounted to an unreasonable, improper and irregular exercise of her discretion. Hearing of the motion is set for Wednesday in the High Court, Port-of-Spain.
