Cops expect to solve Blue Basin double murder
POLICE officers investigating the gruesome murders of 15-year-old schoolgirl Elena Cupid and PH driver Renaud Cassie at Blue Basin Road last Sunday night, believe a breakthrough in the two murders is imminent with the arrest of five suspects. An autopsy at the Forensic Science Centre on Tuesday by Dr Eastlyn Borris revealed that Cupid was beaten on her head with a bat and shot once in the back of the head. The bullet remained stuck in her left eye. The autopsy also revealed that Cupid was sexually active. Cassie was also shot in the head. He had reportedly pleaded with the killers to spare his life. He was pulled from the driver’s seat and shot in the back of the head. The killer and his accomplice removed valuables from the car before setting it on fire Five suspects, including an 18-year-old Blue Basin man, were arrested on Monday at their respective homes.
