No love by Trinis for Trinis
THE EDITOR: I am saddened on what happened in Jamaica. Recently hurricane Emily caused flooding in the Caribbean island. I have heard a young mother died with her child clutching her breast. It shows the mother’s love for her son. This Jamaican citizen tried to save herself and her son simultaneously. A lot of people think I am a racial person, but I consider the Caribbean people as brothers and sisters. Jamaica respects our citizens.
A few months ago, a West Indies cricket recruit was congratulated by the Jamaican newsroom. The Jamaican people showed a lot of respect for a Trinidadian at the press box. At present, public offices in Trinidad are very unkind. I have known instances where citizens are abused. A lot of our nationals do not know where to get help. Many citizens enjoy the sweat of others. Surviving on the sweat of others is wicked. Do Trinidadians love their citizens?
