Gratitude for care received through Health Ministry

THE EDITOR: I would appreciate very much if you could publish this letter in your newspaper, thanking the Minister of Health, Mr John Rahael, for the excellent effort he is making to offer optimum health care in a very affordable way. I truly enjoy its benefits in having a procedure done at the St Clair Medical Centre via the Minister of Health. I cannot begin to tell you Sir, of the welcome that I received by these wonderful people. The staff, all of them gave all their love, care and support, thus enabling me to overcome my fears. The colour of the room, the fragrance, the clean smell of the white sheets, what an ambiance! I would like to say that the concept of nursing homes is not just about money and this is its proof.

At this point I would like to thank the following staff of the St Clair Medical Centre for their excellent care during my stay: Dr Ronald Henry, Dr Foster, P Ramnanan, C Ramroop, Staff Nurses L Whitehead, J John, Avril and Dana in reception, Hazel Clarke, Teena M Thomas and Jency Joseph for their post operative care. Also to Terry Gonzales and Nurse Donna Richards and receptionist Cathy De Gannes of the Doctors’ Inn in Port-of-Spain. To Dr Rohit Doon, chief medical officer and Miss Moulda George in the Ministry of Health, thanks for that big hug and encouragement. Without your intervention nothing would have been possible. To the ECG technician at the Mount Hope Hospital and the friendly staff at the blood lab for being so gentle with me, my heartfelt gratitude goes out to you.

To my concerned doctors at the San Fernando Hospital Casualty Department, Dr Dhiyam Mahabir and Dr Sastri Persad thanks, Dr Neil Bhagwandass, Dr Chandra Deepak, Dr Sheeker Tatipatie, Dr Candice Solomon, Dr Sharon Lakhan and all you hard-working and compassionate nursing staff of ward 11, I will never forget what you all have done for me. Also to Dr Shiva Jaggernauth, Dr Henderson, Dr Clyde Bharath and nursing staff of Ward 12, thank you all. I was treated with great respect from each and every one of you, thank you for extending the hands of the Good Samaritan. May Jehovah continue to bless each and every one of you in a very special way and may the Christ-like qualities continue to remain with you always.
