DOMA: TT has a bright future
TRINIDAD AND Tobago has a bright future ahead of it, and every citizen must be ever vigilant against those who wish to destroy that future. In its Independence Day message, the Downtown Owners and Merchants Association (DOMA) said there is an abundance of talent in every sector of the national community and the accomplishments of TT nationals in several disciplines were renowned throughout the world. "With all of this talent, we feel very strongly that TT could be guaranteed a very bright future with or without the unprecedented recent windfall of energy revenue," DOMA said. DOMA said the only thing which could prevent TT from achieving this bright future is the attempt by certain individuals and groups to divide the society through public pronouncements on issues regarding race and ethnicity. "The trend of talking openly of other races is often measured by its treatment of its less fortunate, its sick and imprisoned, its aged and its minorities," the group said. According to DOMA, while the trend to talk openly about other races is becoming more fashionable and worsening, there is no need for people to resort to such actions. "We can solve our problems without insulting each other and without sewing division in the fabric of society." DOMA said all citizens must recommit themselves towards loving and building TT because "a house divided will fall."
