$2M ransom for kidnapped cricketer
A two million dollar ransom has been demanded for the safe return of kidnap victim Justin Guillen who was snatched on Wednesday night outside his Pt Cumana home. Police sources confirmed that the ransom demand was made on Thursday night. AKS sources revealed that Jeffrey Guillen, the kidnapped teen’s father, is very distraught over the kidnapping. Relatives of the kidnapped student maintained yesterday that he is a bright star with a good potential to one day earn a place in the West Indies cricket team. Relatives added that Guillen is a good person and they called on the kidnappers to treat him well and avoid harming him. "Justin is a good kid, and we are hoping and praying that whoever snatched him find it in their heart to avoid harming him," said a distraught relative in Glencoe yesterday. Officers of the Anti-Kidnapping Squad revealed that the police are following several leads in the kidnapping. Minister of National Security Martin Joseph said all efforts are being made to have Guillen returned to the safety of his family. Police officers searched several homes in Carenage yesterday for Guillen.
