Preetam is alive says grandma

An Aranjuez grandmother is confident that her abducted grandson Preetam Singh, 20, who was snatched on June 30, is still alive and will return home shortly.

Samdaye Singh, a devout Hindu, has said that although everyone has given up hope of Preetam’s safe return, she has received key information that he is alive and well.

She said she now believes that the person who orchestrated the kidnapping of Preetam is someone he knew. She said the person used the kidnapping to extort money from Preetam’s father Suresh Singh.

A $75,000 ransom was recently paid to kidnappers for Preetam’s safe release.

According to Samdaye, the bag with the money was dropped off at a savannah in Malick, and the kidnappers had promised to drop Preetam off in Caura. They failed to keep their promise.

Samdaye told Newsday that she was able to trace the number of the cell phone used to make the ransom demand, and this was passed on to officers of the Anti-Kidnapping Squad.

She added that nothing has been done, but her own investigations have unearthed some startling information about the kidnapping. She feels that Preetam will be allowed to return home any day now, into her waiting arms. Up to yesterday, kidnap victims Barlow Maharaj, Preetam Singh, Vijay Persad, Mark Prescott, Ravi Maharaj and Chris Elves remained unaccounted for.
