TOCO IDEAL FOR ECO-TOURISM

President George Maxwell Richards believes Matelot is a place of great beauty and is an ideal setting for eco-tourism in Trinidad. Speaking at the Power Boat Racers’ day at Matelot on Saturday, the President said when he assumed office he had sworn an oath for himself to spend more time in the rural parts of Trinidad. He said he appreciated the warm welcome he received from the villagers of Matelot and promised that it would not be his last visit to Matelot.

He complimented Fr Mike for the sermon he delivered as it adhered to everyday activities and a strong message of love and appreciation for all. This type of message, he said, would make the world a better place in which to live. Also attending were First Lady, Dr Jean Ramjohn Richards, Murchison Brown, Mayor Port-of-Spain, Ronald Boynes, chairman and Terry Rondon, vice chairman Sangre Grande Regional Corporation, Garth Marshall, president Power Boat Racers’ Association and Dr Fe Reyes, DMO for Toco.
