Newsday, you’re the best!
THE EDITOR: Congratulations! "Happy 12th Birthday" to the Newsday! Since your inception twelve years ago, you have become the number one daily newspaper in Trinidad and Tobago, the Caribbean, and the wider world by extension. Before the Newsday came on the scene, the newspaper industry was dominated by two dailies. A third daily was not at all welcome, but the Newsday has proven its track record. Although twelve years is a short time in history, the newspaper (the Newsday) has survived. At a daily cost of $1.00 and $2.00 on Sundays, it is still very affordable. To the Newsday staff, the management, the reporters, the columnists, all who have a say in putting the paper together, technical as well as the non-technical staff, continue the good work you have begun. As a regular reader, subscriber, and one who has contributed through "Letters to the Editor," I want to wish you continued success in your endeavours. The "Sunday Newsday" I find very educational and informative. The competitive nature of the newspaper industry is increasing, citizens have more choices regarding daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly tabloids/newspapers. What makes a newspaper worthy? Well, several factors, but most important is how the newspaper is presented to the survey, the statistics, is leading the other dailies. Keep up the good work, and once more, allow me to extend to you all the best. A dedicated and committed reader. KEN SMITH Woodbrook
