Allow the public to see Our Lady
THE EDITOR: The blood of our citizens is now drenching our soil, and the stench of death, despair, and torment hangs heavy in the wake of murder, kidnappings, rage and torture. These atrocities are despoiling our people and our paradise as hope dwindles. Prayer remains the last lifeline and many, myself included, see this lifeline as being held by Our Lady of Lourdes whose statue is crying tears of blood over the disaster that is destroying our land. What more appropriate time than the present for letting the public view the statue, and through it, direct their prayers and supplications for delivery from the worsening scourge that knows no end. I am recommending and pleading to the Roman Catholic authorities, please to take the weeping Virgin out of seclusion, and install her for at least one week, in some convenient location like the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. I am on my knees pleading and begging because at this stage, we are a desperate and downtrodden people and only the prayers of Our Lady, and the approval of Her Divine Son Jesus Christ will see us through this painful valley of tears. I strongly beg others of like persuasion to write and voice their support for the statue of Our Lady of Lourdes to be made available for public viewing. LLOYD CARTAR Westmoorings
