EX-MURDER ACCUSED GUNNED DOWN
A FORMER murder accused who had recently been freed on a murder charge was executed on Tuesday night less than eight hours after he secured bail in the High Court on a drug trafficking charge. Bringing the country’s murder toll to 293 is Andrew Skinner, 44, alias Noon of Quarry Street, Diego Martin. Half an hour before Skinner was killed, David Amogan was shot dead in San Fernando. His murder brought the figure to 292. According to reports, after making a purchase at a fruit shed at the corner of St Lucien Road and Diego Martin Main Road, Skinner entered his Black B14 at 8.45 pm. But as he was about to drive off, a gunman walked up and fired a number of shots, hitting him about the body. The injured man was rushed to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. His four-year-old son, who was sitting in the back of the car, was unhurt in the melee. Police believe the killing is drug and gang-related. Autopsy results confirmed that Skinner died of multiple gunshots wounds. Visiting the scene were Snr Supt Roach, Supt Millington, Insps Lezama and Smith, and Cpls Marcelle and Caesar who are investigating.
