Town and Country Planning ‘lapsing’

THE EDITOR: After hearing Minister Camille Robinson-Regis’ scathing attack on Mr Dookeran I was very confused. The reason I am confused is very simple. Mrs Robinson is Minister of Planning. She is in charge of the Town and Country Planning Division.

Now what amazes me is that all the other Town and Country Planning offices reply to applications on time, but the office in Port-of-Spain, the one that is literally in Ms Regis’ lap would take sometimes seven months to reply to an application. Please keep in mind it is the law for TCP to reply within eight weeks. Anytime you call the office, it’s the same reply "Sorry Miss no decision yet." Just a little advice to the minister, please get your house in order before attacking someone else’s house. Mr Manning, I have the utmost respect for you. I honestly believe you have your people’s welfare at heart. Please Mr Manning, take over the Planning Ministry. If I were rich and developing land in the West, I would have a reply within two weeks.
