TWO KILLED, ONE INJURED IN ACCIDENTS
TWO persons were killed, while a third was critically injured in separate accidents between Friday night and yesterday morning. Dead are Mark McIntosh, 26, of Humming Bird Terrace, Diego Martin and Ivan Ramdhanie, 43, of Ojoe Road, Sangre Grande, while Kurt Gomez, 23, of La Brea, lies in a critical condition at the Port-of-Spain General hospital. According to reports around 6.20 am yesterday, McIntosh was driving his van east along the Toco Main Road and slammed into a garbage truck. He died instantly.
In similar circumstances around 10 pm on Friday, Ministry of Health, Quarantine Officer Ivan Ramdhanie was heading east along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway when he lost control and slammed into the pillars in the vicinity of Santa Rosa Gardens. He died instantly. In another accident, around 3 am yesterday Kurt Gomez, of LP 50 Lady Smith Street, La Brea was heading south along Queen’s Park, East when he lost control of his car and crashed into traffic lights at the Cadiz Street intersection in the vicinity of Tam Nak Thai Chinese Restaurant. The unconscious man had to be cut out the vehicle and rushed to the PoSGH where he remains comatose up to press time.
