Fourth man held in Koury murder
A fourth person is expected to be charged with the murder of Dr Eddie Koury. Following investigations, a 21-year-old suspect of Mason Hall, Tobago, was rearrested after he appeared before an Arima magistrate yesterday along with four other persons who are charged with possession of arms and ammunition arising out of the kidnapping and murder of the engineer. The suspect is charged with four other men — brothers Clint and Gary Ambrose, Kaleb Neville Donaldson and Jerome Murray — for possession of a 9mm pistol and eight rounds of ammunition after they were all held with the weapon at a house in D’Abadie on September 21. Reports state that the arrested man and the Ambrose brothers, who are all on $60,000 bail, left the Arima Magistrates’ Court, after the matter was adjourned to January 9, 2006. However, the murder suspect’s walk out of the Arima court was short-lived as PC Remi of the Tunapuna Police Station arrested him, and subsequently took him into police custody. He is expected to be charged with murder sometime over the weekend. Earlier this week, three other men — Donaldson, Sean James and Murray — all appeared in the Tunapuna Magistrates’ Court where they were all charged with the murder of Koury, who was snatched from his Macoya workplace on September 23. The suspect is expected to appear with the three other accused persons when the matter comes up again for hearing on October 27.
