Well, blow me down
THE EDITOR: Every so often a department or enterprise, entrusted by the state to carry out a particular function or set of functions, perform so efficiently that I am left in a combined state of contented stupefaction and bewilderment, not to mention hope that all is not lost for the future of Trinidad and Tobago. I live in a forested area which every so often becomes overgrown with bamboo and threatens the safety of the power lines overhead. Last week I called TTEC/Tobago to report the situation and ask for assistance to clear the area. I was politely told that my request was coming too late in the day - I should call by 7 am - which I did the following day. My report was taken, efficiently and comprehensively, and about one hour later a call was received to confirm the facts of the report which had been taken. Well, blow me down if, by 10 am the contractor was not on site with his full crew who immediately set to work and completed their task by midday. I am not going to query if this level of efficiency is always the case, I shall assume that it is while I say "Thank you and Hats off to TTEC" I can only hope that others follow your fine example.
