‘Joseph the best man for the job’
Prime Minister Patrick Manning said yesterday Security Minister Martin Joseph was the best person for the job and scoffed at those who criticised Joseph’s performance. "People could say what they want," he said, his comment coming one day after Saturday’s Death March. He told supporters at the People’s National Movement Women’s League 39th Annual Conference, at Bon Air High School Auditorium, Bon Air Gardens Road, Arouca that the Government is doing everything in its power to address the crime situation. On a general election, Manning said, "All things be equal, and the way the corn is sharing, I would not be surprised if a general election takes place before 2007." Having said this, Manning started laughing and pushed his hand in his back pocket saying, "let me check my back pocket to see if I have anything... you never know the date or hour."
