POPE CELEBRATED
A Memorial Mass was held yesterday at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Independence Square, Port-of-Spain, celebrating the life of Pope John Paul II. A plaque, donated to the Cathedral by the Belgroves Group, was unveiled and blessed by Father Allan Ventour. It read, "The Archdiocese of Port-of-Spain remembers the pontificate of holiness Pope John Paul II, a true shepherd to all God’s people, indomitable proclaimer of the word of God - A light and a model of Holiness to young people." Keith Belgrove, CEO Belgroves Group said the country was experiencing a very dark period in its history.
