TAKE YOUR JOBS SERIOUSLY

FATHER Clyde Harvey was tight-lipped yesterday when asked about his views on Saturday’s controversial Death March organised by the Keith Noel 136 Committee.

"Enough is already being said about both issues. I do not wish to add anything further. There is too much of talking going on in the country at this time," Harvey said in an interview after the commemorative church service held to mark the 75th anniversary of the Trinidad and Tobago Registered Nurses’ Association (TTRNA) and the Trinidad and Tobago Nurses Association of America Inc at the Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, San Fernando. The service was the first of several events planned for the week of activities. In delivering the sermon to the nurses that packed the congregation, Harvey stressed that committment and responsibility by nurses were vital factors in delivering an effective health care service for citizens.

He emphasised that nurses ought to take their job seriously since the lives of persons lie in their hands. "Care from nurses is important and plays a vital part in a patient having a speedy recovery," Harvey said. He also urged the young nurses to be committed to the job despite the challenges they have to face.

Acting Chief Nursing Officer, Onelia Alexis, promised better patient care.
