2 dead in South crash
TWO WOMEN are dead and four persons hospitalised after a truck collided with a maxi-taxi along the Manahambre Road in Princes Town, South Trinidad. Dead are Leanna Phillip, of Indian Walk, Moruga, and Shelly Ann-Abass. Reports revealed that shortly before 6 pm yesterday, a maxi-taxi heading east on Manahambre Road stopped suddenly in front of a truck which was also heading east. The truck then swerved into the westbound lane to avoid hitting the maxi-taxi, when it struck another maxi-taxi heading west on the westbound lane. Three other vehicles were also involved in the smash-up. Princes Town police are investigating the incident.
