African History Month in November
The Caribbean Historical Society (CHS) will be observing the month of November as African History Month for the first time this year. The CHS recognises the fact that due to the efforts of several individuals and organisations over the past 30 years or so, the month of November has developed in TT as African History Month. As such this year the CHS has decided to make its contribution in sensitising the national community through the medium of a radio programme series for the public as well as the schools, public lectures and cultural shows in TT during the month of November. The highlight of this year’s programme will be the visit of the respected psychologist and graduate of Howard University and chairman of the Washington Metropolitan Chapter of TRANSAFRICA, Professor Eric Leopold Edwards. Edwards will speak on the topic: "The Tragedy of New Orleans," on November 8, at the Eric Williams Auditorium, La Joya, St Joseph from 7.30 pm.
