Minds being influenced by Satan

Firstly, I commend the writer C Wiltshire whose article entitled "Ban Violent Video Games" was printed in Newsday last week. I think that article, though challenging was very pertinent and should be regarded.

Secondly, many may not be aware of this, but certain types of music can be detrimental to mind and can lead to violence. There’s a video called "the truth about Hip-Hop. "This is a type of culture where minds are influenced by Satan who uses various types of music to penetrate minds, which can be affected and then commit heinous crimes. Parents should enquire about this video and have their children view it.

Thirdly, as insignificant as it may appear, those parents who verbally abuse their children saying things like "why you so dotish?" or "you wouldn’t amount to anything", or "police will pick up with you", etc, are pronouncing curses on their children without knowing it. Instead, they should make positive declarations or simply say "God, help my child or children." Although this is easier said than done, it should be practiced. I can’t help but refer to the Word of God in Proverbs 21:18 which says "The tongue has the power of life and death and those who love it will eat its fruit." Pregnant mothers and mothers with young babies or children, you must bless your children. Fathers should do this early too.

Even from conception, this should be started and continued throughout the lives of your children. I’ve said that to say that I believe that many crimes being committed by young people can be as a result of verbal abuse, adverse declarations on children by parents, some teachers and some relatives.

Finally, permit me to refer to Psalms 119:9 which says "How can a young man keep his way pure?" the answer is "By living according to the Word of God."
