Slit throat victim unknown


BESSON street police are asking for help to identify a man who was found with his throat slit on Monday morning at Calvary Hill in Laventille.


The man of African descent is now warded at ward 12 of the Port-of-Spain General Hospital in a critical condition.


Meanwhile, Morvant police are investigating the shooting of Malick resident Wayne Francis.


According to reports at about 7 pm, Francis, 26, of Upper Seventh Avenue, Malick, was walking along a track a short distance from his home when he heard two loud explosions, felt a burning sensation and saw blood running down his leg.


The injured man was carried to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital. Police have no motive for the shooting.


PC Maynard of the Morvant Police Station is investigating.
