Fr Sirju is right about Satan
THE EDITOR: I want to completely endorse Fr Martin Sirju’s commentary of October 25 on the reasons for the situation Trinidad and Tobago finds itself in today, and enlarge on this a little more. Our problems didn’t just come upon us suddenly, they have been creeping up on us, and for that matter, the world, for many years. The mastermind, Satan, the deceiver and murderer. His instruments, powerful people who are greedy for power, money and fame. The tools: drugs, pornography, perverted sexual practices, the occult. Satan wants to kill everyone of us, and his tactics are so subtle. We didn’t even recognise it until it was too late. He makes everything look so enticing and attractive that God’s ways appear to be unattractive and boring. The answer to our problems, the government or police can’t help us. This is a spiritual battle against the forces of evil. We human beings are not strong enough to fight them, they will kill whosoever fights them. The only weapon we have is prayer, (we need to turn back to God). Catholics, pick up your Rosary, for other religions, pick up your mode of prayer, but pray and not just for one day, but everyday. We are in a war, and with God on our side, we will win but we have to turn back to him. ANNE BARCANT St Ann’s
