Old actors never die

THE EDITOR: I have been observing the latest series of drama, bacchanal, intrigue and suspense that have been playing out in theatre of the opposition UNC, and leading the cast of actors is Basdeo Panday, showcasing his many talents and his versatility, unrivalled by his co-actors, the least of which his protagonist Mr Dookeran.

The question which now begs to be answered is this, was Mr Dookeran so na?ve in thinking that the old Bas would simply roll over and fade into the sunset as old actors do, and hand over the glamour, glitz, fame of centre stage to him, just like that, or did he anticipate Bas’ moves as a true think tank that he is lauded to be formulate a plan to effectively deal with these destabilising attacks by his opponents.

Whatever the scenario is, this internal wrangling and power struggle within the UNC does them and the country no good, in a time when the country is crying out for an alternative government.
