Attorney’s son found dead in London
THE son of a prominent San Fernando attorney was found dead at his home in London on Monday. Shiva Harrikissoon, 24, son of attorney Khemraj Harrikissoon, was found dead in bed at 4 pm local time after a night out with friends. Harrikissoon (Shiva), who recently completed his Bachelor of Laws degree, was currently pursuing post-graduate studies in law. Harrikissoon had been living at his father’s flat in London, but information about how he died was sketchy yesterday. Khemraj, of the law firm Harrikissoon and Company at Lewis Street, San Fernando, left for London yesterday afternoon. Harrikissoon’s mother, Hynia, is an attorney in the law firm. His younger brother Nari recently completed his legal training in London and is due to be called to the local bar as an attorney. When Newsday visited the parents’ home in Cocoyea Village, San Fernando, yesterday, Hynia said that family members had received conflicting information about her son’s death. "All I know is that he was found dead in his bed," she said. Harrikissoon, the mother said, had been in London for the past four years studying law. She said her son lived alone in the house. Hynia added, "I don’t want to speculate. When his father goes (to London) we will find out what happened." Harrikissoon was a former pupil of San Fernando TML Primary School and Naparima College.
