NH International request ignored by Govt
Government has ignored NH International Ltd’s request not to table the report of the Landate Commission of Inquiry because of pending judicial matters. The report was laid in the Senate yesterday and will be laid in the House of Representatives today. NHIC has filed for judicial review of the findings of the report, and had requested that the report not be made public pending the outcome of the judicial matter. The commission was mandated to examine the movement of materials, equipment and labour from the Scarborough Hospital Project site to Landate and to examine into all contracts given to NHIC and Warner Construction and Sanitation Ltd. The commission found that Housing Minister Dr Keith Rowley displayed a "total lack of discretion" and suggested that he be more sanguine in matters concerning the development of the Landate project. Rowley has described the commission’s findings as unfair, unjustified and unacceptable.
