I Can See Clearly Now
THE EDITOR: Since October last year, I wrote a letter on behalf of the people of Blundell Alley and Laventille asking for some kind of assistance with our decaying light poles (55C and 55B and our terribly poor excuse of a road. It is now one year later and everything remains the same, just a little bit worse. Today I have decided to say thank you. Since 1962, we have been promised the moon and stars, and all we have been asking for are good roads on land, and I accept responsibility for that because it was my finger which went in the electoral ink and voted for a person who I believe was a person of integrity and true to her word and promises, but clearly politics has a morality of its own. Thank you Mr Panday I can see clearly now and I am sick to my stomach with the stand of the PNM. But all is not lost because when I see Junior Culture Minister Mr Eddie Hart and his heart is still in helping his community, I have hope, Member of Parliament Ms Gillian Lucky and St Joseph MP Mr Gerald Yetming stand for integrity and morality. I have hope that there are still people fighting a good fight. I am making a plea to everyone, please open your eyes and don’t settle for less, because we all deserve a lot more than we are getting. SEAN MATTHEWS Laventille
