2 shot dead
ARIMA fish vendor Anthony Michael Williams yesterday became murder victim number 328 in what family members believe is the result of a family feud. On Sunday, well-known Diego Martin petty thief Detroit Tyrell became murder victim number 327. According to reports, Williams, 32, fondly called Tony, was shot dead while entering the bathroom at his McInery Street home in Arima. The father of two had just returned home from selling fish at the front of the Arima market, when a loud explosion was heard. Eyewitnesses said they saw a man dressed in black running out from the side of the house. Investigations revealed that Tony was involved in an altercation with a relative two months ago, in which the relative’s finger was cut off. Five weeks ago, a gunman sprayed the house with bullets, damaging appliances. Visiting the scene was ASP Badal, Insp Daniel and Abraham, Sgt Hamilton, Cpl Winston, Alexis and Lucas who is investigating. In an unrelated matter, petty thief Detroit Tyrell, alias Squirrel, 35, of Felix Pierre Road, Diego Martin, was walking on Farm Road, Diego Martin, at 8.45 pm, when several shots were heard. When residents investigated they found Tyrell’s body in a pool of blood. Tyrell had been shot several times about the body. Visiting the scene was Snr Supt Roach, ASP Cadette, Insp Smith and Sgt Hudson, who is investigating.
